Welcome To Eden- Season 2 Episode 5 Recap

Welcome to Eden - Season 2 Episode 5 Summary & Recap

Flashback

Episode 5 begins with a flashback from years ago when Isaac was much younger. Astrid’s dad informed Astrid that he just established contact with New Eden, and Astrid was overjoyed about the news. He also suggested getting Erick involved as the project will need a lot of funding.

Then, he decided to bring Isaac out for a drive when out of a sudden, two unknown motorcyclists came and started shooting their car with a gun. One motorcyclist eventually shot Astrid’s dad, causing the car to crash and turn upside down. Astrid noticed some smoke from nearby and immediately drove over to save a much injured Isaac. That was before the whole car exploded.

Eloy is freed

Back to our original timeline: After introducing Isaac and their child, Astrid and Erick attended to Isaac to make sure he was alright. Meanwhile, Joel and the officers capture Eloy despite Orson trying to step in.

At their house, Astrid and Erick suggested that Isaac stay with them from then on. Then, Eloy was brought over to be thrown into the cage, but Isaac stopped them. He pleaded that they let Eloy go because Eloy was his friend.

As a result, Eloy was released back to his friends. He had a touching reunion with Orson, who had now learnt sign language for him. The only reunion that did not start off pleasantly was with Bel. Eloy assumed Bel was the one who sold him out, but Bel convinced him that it was Eva’s own decision.

Dirty work for Astrid's revenge

With the new information about New Eden from Eloy, the rebels came up with another plan. This time they spread the rumour to the masses about Astrid and Erick lying to them, and wanting to take them to outer space. This caused a bit of a ruckus, and Astrid could feel the energy of the people shifting.

However, Astrid still has her other plans in motion. She asked Joel to accompany Gabi for a fun double date with Charly and Som. Worst of all, she demanded that Charly have sex with Som that night and record the act. Charly had no choice but to comply. He downed a bottle of Blue Eden to get him high so that he could think about Mayka during the act.

When Mayka saw the video, she was devastated. Charly tried to approach her, but she did not let him inside her place.

Later on in the episode, it was revealed that Som’s father was the one who hired the assassins to murder Astrid’s dad. Som’s father was already very ill, bedridden in fact. However, Astrid still used Som and Charly’s sex video to taunt the man. She claimed that she now has Som, and so all Som’s inheritance will now go into funding New Eden.

Communicating a foreign dream

Besides this, Astrid was also busy handling the rebellion going on in Eden. Zoa and Bel drew graffiti on Astrid’s house wall, calling her a liar and a murderer. After thinking through, Astrid decided that it is time to speed up the process. She went into the transmission room and sent a signal to outer space.

Then, at night, she gathered the members of Eden to brief them about going beyond the stars. She told them that there is another planet out there that could allow for human habilitation, and that they can grow the crops for survival as they did right here in Eden. Alma seemed impressed and happy, but people like Zoa and Bel were very skeptical.
