Paying off the crime
The episode starts off with Noah meeting Matthias. According to Noah, they can’t transact freely anymore with the police on their tails. Therefore, he suggested that Matthias get someone in a strong political position to give the diamond district businesses a settlement.
Matthias soon got this through, and Adina played her part by convincing all the other businesses to sign the settlement. The only person unhappy about this is of course, Jo. This is against her justice principle where businesses could get away by paying lots of money for a settlement. But Jo’s behaviour on pushing for justice is rubbing the higher ups the wrong way. They then started looking for reasons to fire her.
Meanwhile, Noah also tried to get Marie’s help to talk to her boss to help supply some diamonds to his company. Marie believed that this is out of line and angrily requested Noah to get out. However, Noah was observant and already noticed that the company have some rough Diamonds in their safety box. He then pretended to apologize to Marie the next day to take a peek at their alarm passcode.
Hidden agenda
By then, the authorities had withdrawn the settlement and Wolfson Diamonds might have to go on trial. Kerra went back to Antwerp and Noah quickly approached her to present to her a plan. He suggests stealing the diamonds from Marie’s company to supply to the mob. Then, he would go back to London and stay further away from Kerra, so that Tommy could grow up in a normal environment. Kerra agreed and looked for a pro to help Noah steal the diamonds from a safe.
Oddly though, Noah went to Adina and proposed a plan that could help them get rid of the Albanian mob and save them from the authorities. This means Noah has a different plan, and that he’s partially lying to Kerra.
Soon after, Kerra and Noah met up with Matthias and Mr Tahiri, and they told them the plan on stealing the diamonds. Everyone happily agreed to the business, but Noah made it absolutely clear that he wants someone trustworthy like Matthias to handle the stolen diamonds.
Stealing diamonds
On Jewish New Year, Guillarme, a professional safe thief was hired to help Noah. Both of them broke into Marie’s company at night and successfully stole the diamonds. However, Guillarme suddenly wanted his cut of diamonds there and then. He ended up in a tussle with Noah and before he knew it, he fell down the stairs to his death.
In the morning, Marie found the office broken into, and alerted the authorities. Meanwhile, Noah passed the diamonds to Matthias. That seemed rather straightforward, until Noah approached Eli to notify Jo of some information.
At that point in time, Benny was with her.
Additional Observations From Episode 7
- Gila set a date for her wedding.
- Eli is asked to take his father’s place as the head of the family in the synagogue. He struggles with this and attempts to drown himself. However, it seemed like he failed and eventually showed up at his family’s New Year’s dinner.
