Rough Diamonds - Episode 2 Summary & Recap

Business problems

The episode begins with a meeting between Wolfson Diamonds and their business partner, Fogel & Sons. Eli, Adina Noah and another employee named Benny are there to represent Wolfson Diamonds. Wolfson Diamonds owes Fogel & Sons a lot of money, and Eli, who is now the acting CEO, requests that Fogel allow them to slowly repay their debts over 3 years. But Fogel is not having it and demands for the money in 14 days.

Back in their office, Adina suggests that they liquidate the company assets while Noah wants to go after their business partners who owe them money. One of them is the shady partner that made a deal with Yanki. According to Adina, his name is Salman Karim.

When Noah goes to visit Gila, he notices Yanki’s mobile phone and takes it. He then searches for Salman’s text messages and tracks him down. Then, after threatening Salman, Noah demands the money by Monday morning.

Introduction to the Jewish culture

Meanwhile, in the patriarch’s household, Noah’s mother persuades Noah’s father, Ezra to invite both Noah and Tommy to their Good Sabbath celebration. During the event, Tommy seems to enjoy the Jewish celebration and his eyes even gleam when he receives a yarmulke from his Grandpa Ezra.

Noah, on the other hand, seems uncomfortable. This gets worse when he hears that Eli had gotten Fogel’s son expelled from yeshiva. Noah heads upstairs to look for Tommy but stumbles upon Gila instead. The two of them clearly still have feelings for each other, but Gila tries to keep her distance.

Mob takes action

In a parallel storyline, Jo already finds the link between the drug smuggling activities by the Albanian mob and the diamond industry. She believes that drug dealers are now using diamonds to syphon money. But, her boss and even her father, ask her to stay out of the diamond industry.

The next morning, Tommy’s grandmother, Kerra McCabe, arrives at Noah’s home. She is angry as Noah should be in London helping out with their family business. But that very night, Noah’s friend, Shally’s restaurant was set on fire. Angry, Noah looks for Salman in a restaurant and causes a scene. He threatens Salman to reveal who Salman has alerted to get the money. Salman’s reply is the Albanian mob.

This whole scene made Jo put a target behind Noah’s back, especially since Noah is tied to the diamond industry. She sends someone to follow Noah.

After seeing the craziness in Belgium, Kerra becomes more understanding of why Noah needs to remain there. She offers to connect Noah to one of her contacts who apparently knows people in the Albanian mob. Left with no choice, Noah goes to meet people together with Kerra. Little does he know, someone is taking photos of him from the bushes.
